Among the different types of crane rails, Burbach rails stand out. The name comes from a rolling mill in the German town, which shares the same name. Today, the name is transcribed in various ways, Burback or Burbak. Regardless of the spelling, the characteristics of the rails are unchanged; they are designed specifically for the use and functionality of cranes and other lifting systems.

Crane rails could be according to European (DIN 536 Norm) or to American standards (ASTM norms), there are also other types of rails according to GOST, JIS, QV Norms.
